Mobile web pages are the next frontier in internet technology. While your colleagues, students, and customers have at best intermittent access to desktop computers, they enjoy constant access to the web via their mobile phones. Mobile phones allow access while at home, at work, at play, and everywhere in between.
This tutorial teaches you how to create web sites for mobile phones. We examine several inspiring examples of mobile sites, learn how to design sites that are easy to use even on tiny devices, and study the simple but surprisingly useful CRAP theory of graphic design and layout. Then we show how to implement our designs using basic HTML, images, audio, and video, while noting various limitations of mobile phones. We see how we can use CSS to make web sites that look great on both mobile phones and desktop computers.
